A Network of LHPYC Members
The Lighthouse Point Yacht Club’s Cruise Group is a network of LHPYC Members whose main interest is boating and travel. The group plans off-site gatherings for its members and hosts monthly meetings at the Club. These meetings bring together forty to seventy-five of its members for dinner with informative boating presentations from a variety of speakers.
About the Demographics
The Cruise Group welcomes a variety of demographics both in age and level of boating experience. Just shy of four hundred members, many of these members fall between the ages of forty-five to sixty, while the rest of the group are younger families with children. The vessels range from center consoles to yachts, with most averaging between 50’-110’ in length.
About the Excursions
The Lighthouse Point Yacht Club’s Cruising Group plans eight boating trips per year. Of the eight, two are two weeks in length and include destinations such as the Exumas and Abacos. The other six are weekend getaways to a variety of destinations. Hawks Cay, World Resorts Bimini, and The Ocean Reef Club are the largest attended yearly trips with well over one hundred and fifty members in attendance as it is open to all LHPYC members.
